Press Forward New Jersey is proud to announce that six New Jersey-based news organizations have been awarded funding as part of Press Forward national’s first-ever open call awards. A total of 205 grantees across the country were selected to receive support aimed at closing local coverage gaps and ensuring communities have access to critical information.
The six New Jersey grantees represent a diverse range of media outlets, each serving underrepresented communities and addressing local news gaps. This funding will help these organizations continue their essential work in providing vital information, fostering civic engagement, and amplifying the voices of their diverse communities.
“This funding is a step in the right direction, but more investment is needed. Our society and democracy can only thrive with the flow of news and information,” stated Press Forward New Jersey Development Associate Lindsay McNamara. “Every person in the Garden State deserves access to accurate, timely, and representative local news and information that enhances their lives and communities. This vision will take all of us; please join in by making a meaningful contribution to local news in your community today.”
