$10M Invested. Dozens of Communities Served. One Shared Mission.

Since 2021, the NJ Civic Information Consortium has been building a more informed, connected, and equitable New Jersey by funding projects that close critical gaps in local news and civic information. In 2025, we deepened that impact — and today, we’re proud to share the results.

Our new 2025 Impact Report, written by Hanna Siemaszko, spotlights:

  • Grantmaking milestones: Over $10 million awarded since 2021
  • Grantee impact: As of May 2025, 32 grantees have produced 9,065 stories.
  • Strengthening the journalism pipeline: More than 800 stories have been produced by students and emerging journalists participating in Consortium-funded pipeline programs.

Explore the numbers, stories, and voices shaping New Jersey’s civic information ecosystem. Together, we’re showing what’s possible when we invest in information as a public good.
